Russell Powell Featured in Ripley’s Latest Book
DoubleDown.Digital is proud to share our very own Russell Powell of Pangaean Studios was recently featured in a full spread in Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Odd is Artbook. As part of the book launch, Ripley’s commissioned a special piece featuring the faces of 16 historic guitarists in the shape of a guitar.
The commission was showcased at events promoting the book in a haunting black and white display of the following guitarists: Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Eddie Van Halen, Slash, Chuck Berry, B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Prince, Jerry Garcia, Bo Diddely, Joan Jett, Santana, Bonnie Raitt, Kurt Cobain, Jimmy Page, Duane Allmanand John Mayer. A video outlining the development process of the piece garnered thousands of views on social channels for DDD, Ripleys and Pangaean Studios.
